Terms of use
Last updated 25 August 2026.
These terms cover your use of the TradeChamp website — an independent public directory of UK trades with a voting competition. By using the site you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy notice and Cookies page.
1. What TradeChamp is
TradeChamp lists local trade businesses using publicly available information and runs public competitions in which visitors vote for businesses they rate. It is an independent service. A business being listed, or a listing being claimed, does not mean TradeChamp endorses, recommends, vets or guarantees that business or its work.
2. Business listings
- Listings are compiled from public sources and start unclaimed. We aim for accuracy but do not warrant that every detail is current or correct.
- Listings are not adverts and are not paid for. Inclusion is editorial.
- If you are a business owner, you can claim your listing to manage its public details, or ask us to correct or remove it.
3. Claiming a listing
- Claiming requires verifying control of the business’s published contact address. You must not claim a business you are not authorised to represent.
- A verified claim proves control of the listing — it is not a quality endorsement by TradeChamp.
- Information you submit as an owner must be accurate and lawful. We may suspend or reverse a claim where we reasonably believe it is inaccurate, disputed or abusive.
4. Voting
- Voting is free and open to the public while a campaign is open. There is one vote per person per campaign.
- You must not attempt to vote more than once, use automation, or otherwise manipulate the result — for example by clearing, forging or scripting the browser identity.
- We use technical controls to limit duplicate and automated voting. Votes we reasonably judge to be duplicate, automated or manipulated may be flagged or excluded. We do not claim a perfect “one person, one vote” guarantee.
- Only valid votes count towards rankings.
5. Rankings
- Rankings are determined by valid public votes alone. Rankings cannot be bought and sponsorship (if any) never affects position.
- Before a campaign opens, or with no votes, we show an honest starting state — never an invented count, rank or movement.
- We may correct, re-run or void a result where there is clear evidence of abuse or error.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the site, including: submitting false, misleading or unlawful information; impersonating a business or person; scraping or overloading the service; attempting to gain unauthorised access; or interfering with voting or rankings. We may restrict or remove access, listings, claims or votes to protect the service and its users.
7. Corrections and removals
Each listing has a route to report incorrect information or request removal, and you can also contact us. We review every request; nothing is deleted automatically.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the site available but provide it on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, campaigns or the service at any time.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, TradeChamp is not liable for your dealings with any listed business, for the accuracy of listing information drawn from public sources, or for any loss arising from use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, unless the operator’s confirmed details specify otherwise. [Operating entity and jurisdiction to be confirmed before launch.]
11. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the “last updated” date shows when. Questions? Use our contact form.
